Turning science into R&D decisions — across every stage of biotech

I'm a biotech R&D leader and independent scientific consultant with 9+ years of industry experience across RNA and oligonucleotide therapeutics, biomarker discovery, assay development, high-throughput screening, and preclinical strategy.

I've built discovery and validation platforms from the ground up, led multidisciplinary scientific teams, and helped early-stage and growing biotech companies turn scientific ideas into actionable R&D programs. My experience spans the full arc of the industry — from a multinational pharma research institute (Novartis NIBR), to a Flagship Pioneering venture (Alltrna), to leading R&D at a startup (Gatehouse Bio). That cross-stage perspective shapes how I think about translating science into decisions.

Where my work sits today

The biotech industry is in the middle of a structural shift. AI is reshaping how drugs are discovered and how R&D operates, while China-origin pharma assets are increasingly moving onto the global stage. I work at that interface.

I understand the real scientific and regulatory constraints of drug development. I track closely how AI is changing R&D workflows. And as a native Mandarin speaker with early-career experience in China's pharma and diagnostics market, I can communicate and build bridges between the Western and Chinese-speaking biotech worlds — an area I see as increasingly important as the two ecosystems become more intertwined.

What I'm working on

Scientific consulting. Through NovaBridge Consulting, I advise biotech teams on experimental design, biomarker validation, preclinical strategy, CRO coordination, and scientific due diligence — helping them strengthen R&D decision-making at critical early stages.

Science communication. I create 《制药漫谈》(Pharma Talk), a Mandarin-language channel that decodes drug R&D, clinical trials, regulatory dynamics, and AI trends for biotech professionals and curious audiences across the Chinese-speaking world. It combines industry-report-level depth with accessible storytelling, and has grown to a community of nearly 1,000 subscribers.

Community. I volunteer as a coordinator for Biospark, a Boston-area biotech professional nonprofit, helping organize scientific events and build connections across the local ecosystem.
